The original owner of the palace was the banker Adolphe Stoclet, one of the wealthiest businessmen in Belgium, but soon became a building of historical importance in the capital city.
Stoclet was a great lover of the artistic expressions of all kinds, and ordering the construction of your home, Hoffman told there would be no economic restrictions. It was to build a house, when completed would house all kinds of paintings, statues and sculptures in a museum worthy of note.
The marble facade and interesting designs and architectural styles that combine the full extent, have become one of the most luxurious houses of the twentieth century.
In June 2009 UNESCO declared World Heritage Site and one of the main tasks to be performed by the Belgian government is the preservation of the plays that are stored inside. There are paintings by the artist Gustav Klimt and sculptures by Franz Metzner, to name a few known local environment.
Currently, the house is uninhabited since 2002, when the baroness died Anny Stoclet. But anyway, stroll around and enjoy the facade of one of the most beautiful houses in Brussels worth it.
